Alessio de Girolamo (1980) focuses his research on the illusory aspects linked to the structure of language and the role of Time.
His projects usually start from sound as a foundation before evolving into mixed-media artwork that include a strong visual art component.
Through its sound installations, the artist expresses the conflictual aspects inherently present in the dialogue between human beings and nature, whereby Time emerges as both the central element and the critical reason of their dialectic.
Furthermore, with the use of technology and computer language, the concept of Topos is introduced in a participatory manner by incorporating the historical and traditional features of the space that hosts the installations into the artwork thereby shaping its formal aesthetic.
